Can I scan a book page to save a quote?
Yes! Use your camera to scan any printed page. QuoteCache uses on-device OCR to extract text instantly. Just point and shoot.
Can I import a photo and extract text?
Absolutely. Select any photo from your library (including screenshots of e-books), and QuoteCache will extract the text automatically.
Can I paste Kindle highlights?
Yes. Export your Kindle highlights and paste them directly into QuoteCache. You can also type quotes manually.
Is QuoteCache private and offline?
Completely. All your quotes are stored on your device. No cloud sync, no account required, no tracking. OCR happens on-device. Works 100% offline.
How does the widget rotate quotes?
The widget shows a random favorite quote daily. Tap the widget to shuffle instantly, or tap the quote text to open it in the app. Premium feature.
Can I add notes to quotes?
Yes, with Premium. Add personal notes to any quote to capture your thoughts, context, or why it matters. Notes are private and searchable.
What's the difference between Free and Premium?
Free gives you 20 quotes with scan/paste/type, favorites, and search. Premium adds unlimited quotes, a home screen widget, personal notes, tags, and advanced views.
What happens after I reach 20 quotes on Free?
You can still view, search, edit, and favorite all existing quotes. You just can't add new ones without upgrading.
Can I try Premium before paying?
Yes! Every Premium subscription includes a 7-day free trial. Cancel anytime during the trial at no charge.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancel through your App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) subscription settings. No need to contact us.
What happens if I downgrade from Premium?
You keep all your quotes (even if you have more than 20). Premium features (widget, notes editing, tags) become unavailable. Existing notes are preserved but read-only.
Does QuoteCache sync across devices?
No. Your quotes are stored locally on each device. This is by design to keep your data private and under your control.
Can I export my quotes?
Not yet, but we're considering adding an optional local export feature (e.g., to a text file you can manually transfer).
Which devices and platforms are supported?
QuoteCache works on iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android phones and tablets. Requires iOS 14+ or Android 8+.
Does OCR work in all languages?
OCR supports major Latin-script languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, etc.). Support for other scripts (Cyrillic, Arabic, Asian languages) depends on your device's OCR capabilities.
Can I organize quotes by book or author?
Yes! Free users can sort by author or title. Premium users get advanced views to browse all quotes grouped by book, author, or tag.
How accurate is the OCR?
Very accurate for clear, printed text. Handwriting, stylized fonts, or low-quality photos may require manual editing. You can always edit extracted text before saving.
Can I add the same quote twice?
Yes, there's no duplicate detection. This lets you save the same quote from different sources or with different notes if you want.
